You may or may not have heard about the potential need for scheduled outages this winter due to global issues and concerns with fuel supplies. Although I am just in the dark as anyone, I thought it would be helpful to point out that you can ask to be put on a priority services register with your supplier. The blog from ofgem (the energy regulator for Great Britain) details what criteria may be accepted:
"You are eligible if you:
- have reached your state pension age
- are disabled or have a long-term medical condition
- are recovering from an injury
- have a hearing or sight condition
- have a mental health condition
- are pregnant or have young children
- have extra communication needs (such as if you don’t speak or read English well).
You might still be able to register for other reasons if your situation isn’t listed. For example, if you need short-term support after a stay in hospital."
There is lots of helpful information to help with this on their seperate blog.
If you feel you will have any health issues or concerns due to any planned outage then it would pay you to contact them asap to ensure you aren't left in a concerning situation this winter.
